The biography of the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w (Sirah Nabawiyyah) plays a significant role in providing guidance and lesson on how to lead a community and to face challenges in various aspects of life particularly in the features of thinking. This includes futuristic thinking which could be observed through his ability to foresee the upcoming situations of the Islamic da’wah and his capability to strategize long-term planning in realizing the spread and acceptance of Islam. His strategic actions of Hudaibiyah agreement, Bai’ah Aqabah and the event of Hijrah have definitely shown his futuristic thinking which were recognised as the significant milestones of the successful Islamic da’wah. As such, it is important that this futuristic thinking of Rasulullah should be embedded into today’s Muslim leadership to be more dynamic and proactive. Thus the paper will discuss the futuristic thinking of Rasulullah s.a.w based on some of the important events from his Sirah. It will also elaborate on the application of the thinking into the current Muslim leadership.
