Abstract
English language has been the medium in imparting Islamic knowledge among malaysian students studying in some of the private universities. In the light of the globalization, it is believed that English would be a potential medium to promote Islamic awareness complementing the global change. The study is an extended investigation of earlier findings which reveals that Malay students in a private higher learning institution have positive inclination for its acceptability, comprehensibility and practicality in adopting English for such purpose. The aim of this paper is to further investigate if their inclination for such move has also caused by their Islamic knowledge background, past experience learning Islamic knowledge in English and awareness on the importance of the language in relation to dakwah (preaching) and dealing with global Islamic issues.
