Abstract
High Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) is one of
the major drawbacks in Orthogonal Frequency Division
Multiplexing (OFDM) systems. This paper presents a new
Zadoff-Chu Matrix Transform (ZCT) precoding based OFDM
(ZCT-OFDM) system for the PAPR reduction. The Matlab®
simulations show that, the PAPR of our proposed system
reduced to 0dB (constant envelope OFDM system), for the
practical implementations of such constant envelope systems,
the pulse shaping is necessary to keep out of band radiation low
and to meet the transmission spectrum mask requirement.
Therefore, in this paper, we also implement the Raised Cosine
(RC) pulse shaping with proposed system. From the computer
simulations, it is concluded that, the ZCT-OFDM system with
pulse shaping, has lower PAPR as compare to Walsh Hadamard
Transform (WHT) precoding based OFDM system and OFDM
conventional. Another, noticeable fact is that, pulse shaping
increase the PAPR of our proposed system.
