Abstract

This paper presents a laboratory study on the effect of
microwave incinerated rice husk ash (MIRHA), burnt at different burning temperatures on the interfacial bond strength of aggregate/mortar. The performance of concrete mixes was determined by push-out test at 28 days of curing. The test results,in general, showed that 5% replacement of MIRHA at 800°C burning temperature provide good interfacial bond strength of aggregate/mortar. This paper also cites that MIRHA with burning temperature 600°C revealed that the optimum replacement of MIRHA was 5%. The results were compared with normal concrete without MIRHA.
