Abstract
Limit state design method is being adopted all over the world for the design codes. The hydrodynamic models are used for computation of forces on offshore structures due to waves, wind, tides and currents. The method for computation of hydrodynamic loads on slender offshore jacket structures is given by API RP2A- WSD (21st edition,2005, with errata 2008 edition) , API RP2A-LRFD,1st edition with errata of 2003, ISO 19902, 1st edition, 2007, and ISO 19901-1. Understanding the parameters in the different codes and why these are different is useful for the calibration process. The model equations are identified and compared and the similarities and differences are shown.
