Abstract
Transition metals nanoparticles have received significantinterest due to their enhanced applications in different fields like, catalysis, electronics, environmental applictions etc. Inthis study synthesis of iron nanoparticles by reduction process from ferric chloride with hydrazine has been investigated. Methanol and ethanol were used as solvent in the reduction process. The effect of solvent composition on the resultant particle size has been thoroughly investigated. The effect of the ferric chloride concentration on the resultant particle size hass been investigated. THe synthesized samples were characterized by particle size analyyzer for the size distribution, field emission scanning electron Microscope(FeSEM) for morphology, and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy(EDX)for the elemental analysis and purity analysis.
