Abstract

Companies which had proper project planning, control, monitoring systems and managed strictly the execution of their previous projects developed capacity to handle Multiple projects. The planning for multi projects situations as a whole is less predictable since the performance of one project influences another project. In addition, increasing linkages between projects, sharing or resources from a common pool, the need to integrate parts and resulting increasing inter-dependencies makes the multi project management more complex. It also entails complicated tight schedules, multi tasking, increased co-ordination expenditures, and a large amount of set up time when alternating between tasks. The planning techniques used for project controls in the ongoing multiple design and build projects in Sabah were taken as a case study. Methodology for solving complex planning and control problems and achieving better results are recommended. The findings will help to reduce the complexity in performing most of the activities as per master project management plan
